Street style Pictures

During my dissertation I was working on developing images that I shot in India, during my first year of A'Level's which was organised for my textiles class. It was a unforgettable experience and whilst slowly working through all the film I shot, my memories of the journey are rediscovered. I will post these pictures at a later date as I am still working on them. However I was encouraged by my peers to reconnect with the documentary style photography that I engaged with in my India work. As a way to free up my practise they suggested I go into Nottingham city centre and see if I can take images of a similar style, but focusing on women so as to fit with my current project. These are a selection of the images that I took.

These are scanned from my original prints.

I am pleased with the way that they turned out, I found it a very difficult exercise as I am not a extrovert and find it hard to approach strangers. However I think it was worthwhile as it has shown me how an virtually unconstructed image can be very effective.
